Joe South has been working in cybersecurity for the last decade and has worked at companies of all sizes across multiple industries. Joe is also the host of the Security Unfiltered podcast, where he discusses current cybersecurity issues and educates his listeners on how to have a successful career in cybersecurity. Joe has also created a widely known blog where he works to help others get into cybersecurity and have a successful career in the industry. Joe started his career on the help desk of his college where he fell in love with IT. Eager to learn more, he began working towards his Security+ certification. Upon obtaining this certification, he started to grow into more security-focused roles. Joe started his cyber security career in vulnerability management where he worked to secure his company's applications that served Military and DoD clients. He later expanded his skillset by diving into complex IAM toolsets, where he designed IAM solutions for Fortune 500 companies across the HIPPA, PCI, and Financial Industries. Joe later grew his skillset into the cloud, where he architected secure solutions for companies to move into AWS, Azure, and GCP while still maintaining, if not increasing, their security posture. Joe has obtained the CCSP, CCSK, AWS Security Specialty , and AWS CCP certifications, among others.
