Cloud Infrastructure Software Engineer

The Opportunity

The Cloud Engineering & Operations team is looking for an engineer with a rich technical background experience and passion for developing large-scale cloud infrastructure. We are looking for a well-rounded communicator capable of listening, and mentoring others.

This role in the Cloud Engineering & Operations team is accountable for engineering and maintaining a comprehensive set of operational services such as devising scalable systems resilient to disasters and outages, implementing Security and Privacy measures, creating resource and environment automation, investigating and driving incident resolution, and monitoring application health and availability.

This role also partners with the Platform and Data Infrastructure teams to introduce new products/tools and support the evolution of business-facing deliveries. Scope includes AWS and Azure as primary cloud providers.

  • An experienced engineer with a good understanding of computer science foundations
  • A cloud and distributed systems engineer, with a thorough understanding of the various cloud technologies available, able to justify design choices and technology trade-offs

What you’ll do:

  • Design, build, test, scale, monitor and maintain infrastructure on AWS and Azure clouds
  • Develop infrastructure as code
  • Create resilient, replicatable and recoverable distributed systems in a multi-cloud env
  • Be a key contributor on an Agile development team, collaboratively realizing business value through iterative software development lifecycle
  • Drive design collaboration, provide constructive code reviews and feedback
  • Take full responsibility for the availability and performance of the team’s services

We're Looking For Someone Who Has:

  • 3+ years of software development experience 
  • 2+ years of experience leading technology decisions for engineering cloud infrastructure
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience

Bonus experiences:

  • Experience designing, implementing, and operating solutions based on a microservice architecture
  • Experience in developing and implementing highly scalable, high throughput backend systems
  • Experience with developing solutions on cloud platforms
  • Experience with tracking service performance and availability
  • Managed and serviced Databases and servers running Unix-like operating systems
  • Experience working with mature software development practices and tools for source control, testing and deployment
  • Enterprise SaaS/ Cybersecurity background
  • Defined and built infrastructure as code
  • Experience managing container-orchestration systems and technologies such as Kubernetes, Fargate, ECS, Docker
  • Experience working in a multilingual environment  (Python, Go, HCL)
  • Highly collaborative with effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Team player who is eager to help others to succeed through mentoring and leading by example
  • Self-starter, and Self-motivated, able to learn and work autonomously
  • Able to convert technical requirements into business value
